It includes the use of pharmacotherapy in which drugs and medicine are used to treat illness and cure disease. Hydrotherapy involves the use of water to ease pain and restore health. Electromagnetic therapy is also a common type of therapy that is used as a tool to relive pain by utilizing energy and electromagnetic waves. The manipulation of temperature is another commonly used practice when dealing with pain and pain relief. Cryotherapy implements cold, while thermotherapy involves the use of heat. Perhaps a more well known and more widely used form of therapy is that which is used to improve your mental and emotional health. This type of therapy is often referred to as counseling.</p>

One of the most popular areas of counseling is marriage counseling. A marriage counselor will seek to help you work through the problems and issues that you are facing in your marriage. This form of therapy often helps to strengthen a marriage, ultimately saving it. However, it can also help spouses realize that it may be time for them to split up and go their separate ways, as this would be in both of their best interests. Usually, both partners in a marriage will attend marriage counseling sessions together, however on some occasions one spouse will decide to see a councilor on their own. Marriage or relationship counseling is not only used to help people who are married, it can be beneficial for individuals who are in a relationship but who have not yet made the leap to marriage.
